Cemetery listing for small unnamed Cemetery located just off Colton Hill Road, Fine, NY

Colton Hill Road runs between Blue Mountain Road and Ridge Road in Fine, NY The cemetery can be found as follows. From Blue Mountain Road turn onto Colton Hill (a dirt road). The road makes a sharp right turn at a 4 corners. Straight ahead is a poor dirt road (private) to the left and down hill is a dirt road where the cemetery is located. (The local people are not sure if this is a public or private road) the land on both sides is posted. Good manners are to contact the owners and ask permission first.

The cemetery is located about a half mile down the left road and up a slope on the right side.

Inventory was done July 3, 2003.

Stones standing by themselves (not enclosed) were as follows

LARABEE, Luoinda F wife of Wm E LARABBE died 23 Jun 1879 age 23 yrs 2 mns 25 dys

KILBORN, Timothy died 21 Nov 1853 age 68 yrs 3 mns

GIVEN, Alex 6 Apr 1876 age 26 yrs 6 mns ? dys.

??,Alcedta ( surname was not readable) died 25 Aug 1872

Following 2 stones were enclosed by a metal fence (photo of enclosure).

BEMUS, N. W. died 15 Sep 1882 50 yrs 11 mns

Stone Base only, no info.

There could have been 2 to 4 additional graves within the fence, but no evidence to support this.

Following 4 stones were enclosed by a metal fence and gate (photo of enclosure and stones)

COLTON, Sidney died 1 Aug 1852 age 17 yrs(??) 6 mns

Broken stone with only MOTHER readable

COLTON, Susan dau of Sidney died 3 Aug 1??2 in her 11 yr

MARSH, Henry O 9 Jul 1869 in his 30 yr

It appeared that that could be additional sites within this enclosure.

There were indications of possible additional sites, but no real indications.

It appears that someone takes care of some of the sites and places flowers.

If anyone can provide any additional information into this old cemetery, I would be most interested in hearing it.
