FIFTH GENERATION --STILSON/STILLSON

V. GOLDIE "DEE" MARIE STILLSON b. October 23, 1943 in Waukegan, IL is the daughter of Melvin Marion Stillson and Goldie M. Benser Stillson. She m. November 27, 1965 to Michael Hauser b. September 2, 1939 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They havefive children. Dee was named after her mother, Goldie Marie. Her father, Melvin, calls his wife "Gold" and his daughter "Dee. "

Dee attended Antioch Township High School in Antioch, IL where her father, Melvin M. Stillson was an Instructor. He was her class advisor for four years. She held class offices, was Home Coming Queen, in three bands and many other organizations while on the High School honor roll. She was also a Rainbow Girl and held state offices. Dee attended Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan taking her basic science courses to become a veterinarian. However, when she applied to a veterinary college in Iowa she was told she need not have applied because she was female. She had also worked in an animal hospital summers and the doctor or "vet" wanted her to go to his alma mater.

Dee then attended the University of Wisconsin in Whitewater, Wisconsin where she obtained a B.S. in Science and a B.S. in Education. She became a member of the Delta Zeta sorority, was in the marching band (saxophone), choir and many other organizations. It was here she met Michael and while she was teaching in Illinois they were married in St. Ignatius Episcopal Church in Antioch, IL. The next fall they both accepted positions in the Scottsdale, Arizona schools. While there they obtained their Masters Degrees in Education from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. They have continued their education attending colleges in the U.S. and abroad.

Dee and Mike have taught in American Schools in Tehran, Iran for two years,. Zagreb, Yugoslavia for three years,. Singapore for two years; Amman, Jordan for eight years. Once, between countries, they taught in the U. S. for two years. Dee and her husband and children have traveled extensively in the Middle East, Europe and Ecuador, S.A. They have taught in Illinois, Wisconsin and Arizona. Dee was one of thirty teachers selected to take the course for the space program at the Space Center in Houston, Texas during the summer of 1984. Later she was asked to apply to come the teacher (science) member of the crew of the space shuttle Challenger, but she declined. The Challenger later blew up and all crew members were lost. At the present time Dee is teaching biology in the Waukegan (IL) High School that has an enrollment of over 3,000 students. Mike is an Elementary Principal nearer Chicago, IL.

2. Aaryan Pantea Hauser b. January 10, 1971 in Tehran, Iran. Currently attending Carroll College, Waukesha, WI. She is in choir and a member of the soccer team.

3. Jason Kayvan Hauser b. January 10, 1972 in Tehran, Iran. Jason is employed at the Mauro Auto Mall in Kenosha, WI. He helps his grandparents in the yard and is their "handyman. "

4. Michael Andrew Hauser, Jr. b. October 19, 1972 in Zagreb, Yugoslavia. Currently attending Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has a scholarship in soccer.

The above three all entered their Junior year at Antioch Township High School and all graduated together. This is the High School their mother attended and where their grandfather aught for 36 years.

5. Daria Marie Hauser b. July 19, 1977 in Singapore. Daria is attending the same High School where her grandfather, Melvin Marion Stillson taught for 36 years and the same school her mother Dee attended. She is active in volleyball, basketball, band, A.C.E., Alpha, Student Council, Executive Board and German Club. She is in Rainbow for Girls affiliated with the Masons and Eastern Star. She has held state offices in this organization and attended state conventions in several states. She maintains a place on High School Honor Roll.

6. Jordan Melvin Hauser b. December 4, 1984 in USA. Jordan is in Little League, plays baseball and soccer and is a Cub Scout. He also belongs to the Library Reading Club and takes swimming lessons.
