This section is for the family of Lowell (Mick) Colfax Stilson and his wife Daisy Greiner and their children Marie Josephine Stilson; Frederick Earl Stilson and Joanne Middleton; Jasper Lowell Stilson and Mary Lou Reber.
![]() FOURTH GENERATION --STILSON/STILSON(Jacob I,. Simon 2,. Schuyler 3,. Lowell Colfax 4) IV. LOWELL (MICK) COLFAX STILSON was the son of Schulyer C. and Hattie Stilson and the grandson of Simon and Nancy Stilson, born June 17, 1895 near Albany, Oregon. He received his education there and in 1915 he enlisted in the U.S. Artillery Corp and was stationed in France during the war. Like many returning veterans he was forced to find a new means of livelihood. Following World War 1, Mick Stilson drifted to Gilliam County, Oregon, looking for work, and was employed on the ranches of Fred c. Greiner and Earl Froman in Ferry Canyon. He good naturedly bore the nickname of "Rousty ''as he performed all the duties of a roustabout during his first Gilliam County Harvest. Mick took part in local rodeos and played baseball on one of the local teams. At a Saturday night dance at the Rink Hall in Condon, a co-worker, George Greiner, introduced Mick to his younger sister Daisy. They were married November 30, 1922 in Ashland, Oregon. Daisy Bell Greiner was the daughter of Andrew and Josephine Greiner and was b. Apri113, 1894 at the Greiner home on Mayville Flat. Daisy became an accomplished seamstress. She was also the first of the Greiner girls to learn to drive and was her father's personal chauffeur until her marriage. The Stilsons made their first home in Sacramento, California where Mick and his brothers owned and operated Stilson Brothers Cleaners. Daisy worked as a presser and seamstress. Later they purchased a dairy at Gault, California, which they operated until they retired in the late 1950's. Mick died December 22, 1966. Daisy died March 8, 1990 in Sacramento California at the age of 95. Marie Josephine (Joey) b. June 13,1924 in Condon while Daisy was visiting her parents during the illness ofher father. Joey taught in various military schools oversees, in California and Hawaii. She died February 21, 1980 of cancer.
