Johann Stevahn is the brother to
Michael Stevahn, Barbara Ketterling and Karoline
Gruszie.
They are the children of Johann Sr. and Elisabetha
"Frey" Stevahn.
Johann and Regina sailed on the Vessel SS Darmstadt
from
Bremen, Germany to Ellis Island, New York arrival
date: 5 April 1893.

Departing Ellis Island, Johann, Regina and family
first settled in the Wishek area of North Dakota.
The
Johann Stevahn Farm 1906.

Before Elgin, North Dakota came into being and among
the earliest settlers
were the Johann and Michael Stevahn Families. These
brothers and
their families came to this area in 1906 from
Wishek,
North Dakota.
Johann bought three quarters near Elgin to the south
which farm
later was occupied by his son and became the Wilhelm
Stevahn Farm.
Wilhelm lived on the farm 46 years in the stone
house
built by his father.
