 Louis Prêvost's Line 

Laprairie, Québec, Canada

These French Canadian lines are verified by the Montreal Archives for dates before 1800, or by extracted documents for earlier dates when two places are listed along with Québec, Canada.  The first place is the church (and usually parish combined in some way) and the second is the county, all in Montérégie Region.  Nearly all of this line stays in Laprairie, though a bit goes to Montréal and Chambly.  There could easily be confusion with all the Daigneault, Deniau, and Denault's in this line.  Not all are related, even though they sound similar!!  I am having difficulty verifying some of these Laprairie lines, if no church is listed, it has NOT been verified by me.

Alexis & Marguerite Provost's Children

Alexis married Marguerite Deniau in Laprairie.  So far there are three children discovered of this family through marriage records.  Births are listed by order of marriage dates.
 

  • Alexis Provost:  born in Québec, Canada.
  • Joseph Provost:  born in St-Philippe, Laprairie, Québec, Canada; married Claire Robert 16 Nov 1818 in St-Philippe, Laprairie, Québec, Canada. Their son, Albert, married Louise Deneau 1855 in St-Philippe.
  • François Xavier Provost:  born in St-Philippe, Laprairie, Québec, Canada; married Sophie Foucreau 25 Nov 1822 in St-Philippe, Laprairie, Québec, Canada.  They had five children get married  in St-Philippe:  Vital (Elise Aupry 1848), David (Flavie Aupry 1855), Anna (Narcisse Dupuy 1843), Constant (Delphine Lefebvre 1866), Théophile (Sophie Lestage 1861).
