NOTES: After the death of his father John STEINKE, his mother Wilhemine (TEWS) STEINKE remarried Johann (John) August TRAFHOLZ and they had a child Amilia in 1855. This whole family all came to America in 1856 on the ship EDWARD EVERTT with his 18 year old sister Julia STEINKE. They all settled in Jefferson Co., WI. Another child Laura was born in 1858 to Wilhemina and John TRAFHOLZ. Julia STEINKE married Henry REIP of Jefferson Co., WI. Johan and Wilhemina STEINKE had another child Henrietta Ernestine STEINKE, B. 28 Mar 1842 that we do not think she ever came to America or she was married.
