From the Battle Creek Enquirer, April 28, 1914: (It could be the Kalamazoo paper.) Death yesterday
claimed E. W. Rice, 72 years old, (must be an error, as he was only 59 years old.) one of the men
indicted recently by grand jury. Rice collapsed the night the indictment was returned and since that
time had failed rapidly. The true bill accused Rice of trading a lot in Kalamazoo, for which he had no
