Served in the Navy on the Pacific Front during WWII. His ship, the Warrington, was badly damaged in battle and was sent home for repairs. Having made the repairs, the ship was assigned coastal duty. Off the coast of Charleston, N.C. the fleet met with a hurricane and the repairs failed. All hands were lost but 3 or 4. Dad said he chose the Navy so he wouldn't die on foreign soil - Carolyn (Steinbrecher) Floyd.

I tried to email some information to you but it came back.  The Albert you
have as Clara's husband is either the wrong one or dates are wrong.  My
grandfather Albert Steinbrecher died sometime between March 1944 and June
1946.  It is my understanding he was born in Germany and that my father was
a first generation American.  I could be wrong on that, and maybe it was
Albert that was first generation American, but I don't think so.

1. Jane Marie, Kimberly Ann and Victoria Lynn are children from my
ex-husband's first marriage.  Their father would be Charles Harold Floyd and
their mother's first name was Karen.  They lived in Wayne, Michigan.

Crosley is the youngest surviving child of Albert and Clara.  The birth
order is Alice, Irene, Lillian, Elmer, Wes then Crosley.  There was a little
girl born after Crosley that didn't live.

Crosley Boyd Steinbrecher was born Aug. 3, 1914.  He married Margaret Doris
McIntyre June 3, 1939.  A son, Crosley Boyd Junior, was born Aug. 2, 1941.
This son, my brother, died at three months of age.  I was born Nov. 14,
1942.  Crosley, my birth father, was a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker.
He served in the Navy on the Pacific front during WWII.  His ship, the
Warrington, was badly damaged in battle and was sent home to the Atlantic
coast for repairs.  Having made the repairs, the ship was assigned coastal
duty.  Off the coast of Charleston, N.C. the fleet met with a hurricane and
the repairs failed.  All hand were lost but 3 (4?).  Dad said he chose the
navy so he wouldn't die on foreign soil.

Mom remarried on June 28, 1946 to Royal Jennings Cordray.  I was officially
adopted by Royal Feb. 7, 1961.  I married Charles Harold Floyd on Sept. 1,
1964.  Charles and I have three children Tiffany Suzanne born March 20,
1965, Tamara Louise born Jan. 30, 1968, and Trevor Allan born April 11,
1975.  Charles and I divorced June 12, 1983 and I have not remarried.  I am
an Ordained Elder of the United Methodist Church presently appointed to a
two point charge: Perry and Shaftsburg U.M.C.

Tiffany married William Thurman on Nov. 26, 1982.  They had two children:
Eric Jacob born Sept. 18, 1982 and Joshua Ryan born Nov. 15, 1985.  William
"Bill" and Tiffany divorced in 1988.  Tiffany married James Stickley on May
9, 1997.  They have no children between them but "Jim" has two sons from a
previous marriage.  His wife died of cancer.

Tamara married Raymond "Fred" Wurst on Feb. 14, 1988.  They have two
daughters, Emily Louise born May 8, 1992 and Ashley Colleen born Nov. 9,
1994.

Trevor is not yet married and has no children.

2. I believe how my Dad, Royal, being Crosley's cousin comes in is that
Royal's mother and Clara were sisters.  Her name was Minnie Pragert.  Her
parents (Clara's too obviously) were born in Germany.  Royal had two sister,
Eleanor and Dorothy.  My mother would know. She isn't very good at her
computer skills but you can try her E-mail

3. Mom should know where they are buried but my guess would be Forest Lawn
in Detroit.  That's were my Dad's mother is buried and most of my other
relatives on his side.

4. My records on the Steinbrecher side are sketchy.  While all my
Steinbrecher aunts and uncles kept close contact with me after my father's
death I was really too young to remember genealogical information.  I don't
have middle names for either of them.
