ST. AUSTELL, CHARLESTOWN, TREVERBYN RESOURCES
Historic Cornwall - St. Austell - downloadable maps, including St. Austell in 1907, and a report on the 'historic character study' for the town by Kate Newell, Historic Environmental Service.
Postcards of Cornwall - St. Austell - postcards from the past; be sure to click on "Powder" for views of various parishes in the Hundred.
Restormel Borough Goverment - main website for the governing entity. They maintain records of all gravesites in Charlestown and St. Austell. (as of April 2009, this governmental unit no longer exists, but in the transition to the new government, the website might be of use.)
St. Austell Town - modern map, development plans, interesting "history" section, also where to stay if visiting, and where to shop. Very current information.
Trethurgy Historical Project - an archaelogical excavation of a "round hill" near Trethurgy in the 1970's, which revolutionized the understanding of Roman influence.
Charlestown Maritime History - D.A. Hills history of maritime Cornwall, including smuggling index and index of storms.
Charlestown Surname Index - surnames extracted while researching the maritime history of Charlestown.
Francis Frith Collection - photo history of Cornwall, with many Charlestown and Pentewan scenes from the early 1900's.
InCensus - Cornish census returns for 1891, 1841, and 1861. 1841 is shown by Hundreds; our parishes are in the Powder Hundred, HO 107/146. In 1891, St. Austell is RG12/1822. (There is, of course, FreeCens as well - with a very good search facility, all entries were checked 3 times, which reduces transcription error. It can be found at http://www.rootsweb.com - the right hand column, half-way down.)
Tywardreath and Golant - everything you might wish to know about these locations. A very helpful, well-designed site.

And lastly, a commercial site not concerned with genealogy -
Tregrehan - the manor of the Carlyon family since 1565; now a Garden centre with some accommodations available for guests as well. The website is interesting, as is has a "zoomable" photograph of the estate and a very nice slideshow about the gardens.
