ST. AUSTELL PARISH

PHOTOGRAPHS

15th cen. Church Tower, close-up of the sculptures; note the heads supporting the major figures, and their variety . The two lowest figures on either side of Jesus are thought to be St. Mewan and St. Austell, two Irish priests who came to preach to the inhabitants, and ended by having two parishes named for them.
