Basler, Richard T.
PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Richard T. Basler, 66, of Perryville died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at his residence.
He was born March 2, 1943, in Perry County, son of the late Raymond V. and Irene C. Favier Basler. He and Sandra Williams were married Sept. 18, 1965.
Basler had worked 23 years in maintenance for Perry County Nursing Home. He was Army veteran of the Vietnam era and a former member of AMVETS.
Survivors include his wife; his stepfather, Paul Bohnert of Perryville; three sons, Thomas Basler and Terry Basler, both of Perryville, Gary Basler of Silver Lake, Mo.; two granddaughters; and a stepgranddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with an American Legion wake at 7 p.m., and from 6:30 a.m. until time of service at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the St. James Catholic Cemetery in Crosstown, Mo.
