Bahr, Josephine Veronica (nee Geiler)
Mrs. Joseph Bahr Succumbs to Infirmities
Mrs. Joseph Bahr of Route 1 Ste. Genevieve passed away at her home, Monday, February 3, 1941, at 1:40 a.m. following an illness of two months due to infirmities of age.
The deceased was born at Ste. Genevieve, May 1, 1864, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Florian and Genevieve (Bantz) Geiler. She was wed to Joseph Bahr, January 29, 1884, the ceremony solemnized in the church of Ste. Genevieve by the late Rev. F. X. Weiss.
Seven children were born to this union, all of whom with their father survive. The children are, Annie (Mrs. Frank Meyer), Rose (Mrs. Anton Viox), William, John, Frank, Emily (Mrs. Eugene Giesler), and Elizabeth (Mrs. Anton Jacob), all of Ste. Genevieve. Also surviving are 42 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a brother, John Geiler of Ste. Genevieve.
Remains lay in state at the Jerry Stanton Mortuary, until 9:30, Wednesday, February 5, when they were removed to the Church of Ste. Genevieve, where services were conducted by Mgr. C. L. van Tourenhout at a requiem mass. Interment took place in Calvary Cemetery.
The Herald joins the many friends of the family in expressing heartfelt sympathy.
