Mrs. Bruce Rand Passes Away At Mantorville
Mrs. Bruce Rand, 86, long-time resident of Dodge County, died at her home in Mantorville Thursday afternoon, January 24, after a lengthy illness.
The former Lena Denny was born October 24, 1876, at Alliance, Ohio, and at the age of 12 came with her parents to Dodge County. In 1896 she was married to Leonard Glarner who died in 1911. She then was married to Mr. Rand who died in 1954. In 1951 she moved from a farm home in rural Dodge County to Mantorville where she since resided.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Homer House of Minneapolis, and a foster son, Harold Denny of Kasson. One son preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Zwingli Evangelical & Reformed church at Berne, with the Rev. H. H. Schowe, church pastor, and the Rev. Cecil Argetsinger of the Mantorville Congregational church officiating. Burial was made in Evergreen Cemetery, Mantorville.
