ILL ONE YEAR, CAMDEN FARMER TAKES OWN LIFE
Funeral services for Norris Hales, 45, Camden-twp farmer, who committed sucide Monday, were held yesterday afternoon from his home on the Pittsfield-Camden-rd.
Despondency over ill health is believed to have caused Mr. Hales to end his life by shooting himself through the head with a double-barrel shotgun. He was found dead in his home by his wife, Martha, a few minutes after she heard the shot and ran to his room. He had been in ill health for about a year.
Besides his wife, he is survied by a daughter, Ruth, and two brothers, Vern Hales, Brighton, and Ross Hales, Camden.
The Reverend Howard Patrick, pastor of the Brighton Methodist Church, officiated at the last rites and interment was in Camden cemetery.
Obituary submitted by Ralph "Pete" Hales.
