1913 - 2000
Mary J. Hales, 87, St. Louis , formerly of St. Joseph, died Saturday, July 1, 2000 at her home.
Miss Hales worked at the Truman Restorative Center in St. Louis until
retiring in 1975. Born Illinois on March 22, 1913 she moved to St. Louis in 1943. Miss
Hales was a graduate of the former Missouri Methodist Hospital, School of Nursing, in St.
Joseph and earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Washington University in
St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Isabella Hales and
several brothers and sisters.
Surviving: three cousins, Lois Trautman, St. Joseph , Fran Spalin, Anaheim, Calif., and
Judy Phillips, Laguna Beach, Calif.
Graveside service and burial 1 p.m. Saturday, Perrin Cemetery, Plattsburg, Mo. Visitation:
10 am to 12:30 pm Saturday the the Cox Funeral Home, Plattsburg.
