Donald Martin Hales, 79, Topeka, died Tuesday, April 28, 1998, at a Topeka nursing home.
Mr. Hales was a pressman for Stauffer Publications for 31 years before he retired in 1971.
He was born Sept. 6, 1918, in Topeka, the son of James C. and Elsie Marie Martin Hales.
Mr. Hales was a member of the Eagles Lodge.
He was married to Jewel Moody in Lawrence. They were divorced.
Survivors include three sons, Michael David Hales, Steven James Hales and Edwin Hales, all of Topeka; a daughter, Donna Jewell, Mayetta; a brother, Eugene Hales, Topeka; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Hales will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Newcomer Family
Funeral Home.
