Denny, Margaret J. (nee Egger)
1847 - 1914
Mrs. Margaret (Egger) Denny was born in Frutigen Canton, Berne, Switzerland, March 27, 1847, where she grew to womanhood and from where in 1870 she came with her parents to Ohio.
In 1873 she was united in marriage to John Denny. Nine children were born to this union, seven of whom are living; John, Ida, and Charles of Lawndale, California; F. W. of Seattle, Washington; Albert of Square Butte, Montana; Mrs. Lena Glarner and Mrs. Margaret Lehnherr of Milton; and Emil and William have passed beyond. Besides her children she leaves her devoted husband; one brother, Emil Egger; one sister, Mrs. Samuel Wafler of Alliance, Ohio; and nine grand children to morn her death.
In 1887 the family moved to Minnesota and settled in Milton Township where they resided until 1905, when they moved to Kasson, living there until 1911. Thinking that a change of climate would benefit her failing health, they moved to Southern California in 1912. But the change failed to benefit her and she passed away June 16, 1914, Tuberculosis with other complications being the cause of her death.
The remains were brot back to her old home in Minnesota by her husband. Funeral services were held at the Milton Baptist church Monday and Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery, Mantorville.
Mrs. Denny was a kind and loving wife and mother, greatly devoted to her family. A good woman has left the midst of a loving circle of which she was a beloved member, for the life beyond. May she rest in peace.
* * *
We loved her, yes
we loved her
But angles loved her more,
And they have sweetly called her
To yonder shining shore.
The golden gates were opened,
A gentle voice said "come,"
And with farewell unspoken
She calmly entered home.

We desire to extend our sincere and heart-felt thanks to the neighbors and friends for their kindness and attention in our time of sorrow.
