A Bright Young Life Ended

Emil Edward Denny was born in Milton Township, this county, on April 20, 1888, his parents being John and Margaret (Egger) Denny, and he died on Sunday, August 6, 1911, being 23 years, 3 months and 17 days of age.   He received his early education in the rural schools of this county, entered the High school of Kasson in 1904 and was graduated from that institution in June, 1908.  In the autumn of that year he entered Hamline University and had finished his sophomore year when he had to quit his studies there on account of ill health.  Had he been able to continue his studies there, he would have graduated in the class of 1912.  Last fall he went to Niles, Michigan and took medical treatment for a lung trouble, and in February of this year he went to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he remained until the middle of last month and was brought home tin very feeble health by his sister, Miss Ida Denny, a trained nurse.  Tuberculosis, with other complications, was the cause of his death.

He united with the Presbyterian church of Kasson in January, 1908, and continued a member to the time of his death.

He leaves to mourn his untimely demise his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Denny; three sisters and four brothers as follows:  Mrs. Lena M. Glarner and Mrs. Margaret L. Lehnherr of Milton township; Miss Ida Denny, of Los Angeles, California; John, here at home; F. W., at Seattle, Washington; Charles E. here at home and Albert S., at Sentinel Butte, N.D.

The funeral services were held at the home at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Rev. J. C. Bantly officiating.  Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery at Mantorville with Undertaker Frank Augustine in charge and the following young men as bears:  Melvin and Allen Chase, Ralph Schoonover, Clifford Anderson, Edward Dennesen and Lynn Ellis.
