STAPLES' SURNAME & DNA PROJECT (SSDP)
[15 September 2002 - 15 September 2012]
THE WORLDWIDE STAPLES' SURNAME &
DNA PROJECT (SSDP) WAS FOUNDED IN SEPTEMBER 2002 AS A TEN YEAR GENETIC GENEALOGY
PROJECT WITH THE PRIMARY GOAL OF INCREASING KNOWLEDGE OF OUR VARIED FAMILY
HISTORY BY MATCHING GENETIC DATA THAT WOULD REVEAL RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN PARTICIPANTS, IDENTIFYING
OUR UNIQUE GENETIC ROOTS WITHIN GENETIC FAMILY TREES AND FAMILY BRANCHES.
16 SEPTEMBER 2012; After the 10 year study was completed the SSDP information was moved to this location in order to remain on-line for the benefit and reference of its participants and interested individuals for as long as possible.
07 MAY 2016; THE SSDP WEBSITE HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN FROM THE
INTERNET BECAUSE Y-DNA INFORMATION POSTED TO THE SITE BETWEEN 2002 - 2012
MAY BE INCOMPLETE. THIS SITUATION IS DUE TO RECENT
ADVANCEMENTS WITH Y-SNP TESTING SUCH AS THE FTDNA BIG Y AND Y-STR 111 MARKER TESTS WHICH
HAVE BECOME THE STANDARD FOR PROVING Y-DNA MATCHING OF CLOSE FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS WITHIN
THE SURNAME ERA.
AS THIS PROJECT WAS ENTERED INTO THE PUBLIC DOMAIN IN 2002 BY ITS MEMBERSHIP THERE MAY BE PLACES ON THE INTERNET WHERE OTHERS HAVE PLACED INFORMATION TAKEN FROM THIS PROJECT.
If you were a member of the SSDP (2002-2012) and want more information contact Art Staples, Jr.
