Some Descendants of Richard Stanier

The following is a tree of the descendants of Richard Stanier of Uppington SAL, sent to me by

Peter Perryman

105 St Richards Road

Otley

West Yorkshire

LS21 2AZ

in March 1995. It is not entirely consistent with the tree showing the descendants of John Stonhewer. This tree identifies Francis Stanier [1657 - 1697] as the son of John Stanier and Rachel née Allestry. But Burkes Peerage has Francis son of John as dying in 1726, which is confirmed by his MI in Cropredy Church.

Further, this tree has Francis Stanier [1657 - 1697] as father of Francis Stanier [1684 - 1735]. But the will of Francis [1684 - 1735] gives his father as Richard.

The tree of John Stonhewer is mainly from Burkes Baronetage (which does not quote its sources), and the Alumni Oxonienses. This tree is the results of Mr Perryman's own research, including the Purton's Pedigree (which would appear to be a most questionable source).
