Roger M. Knutel


Roger M. "Bubba" Knutel, 65, of Wadsworth, IL, where he resided for over 28 years, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Vista East Medical Center.

He was born June 8, 1943 in Chicago, IL and was raised in North Chicago and graduated from NCCHS in 1961. He married Alice Worseck on July 3, 1980 in Waukegan. In 1995, he retired as a crew leader with Commonwealth Edison after 30 years of service.

He enjoyed nature, gardening, and animals. He loved nostalgic cars, was an avid Green Bay Packer and Nascar fan and enjoyed golf. He will be remembered for his kind heart and admired "JFK, Vince Lombardi and Dale Earnhardt".

Roger is survived by his wife, Alice; son, Roger Thomas Knutel of Kenosha, WI; daughter, Kelly Jean (Kaczmaryn) (Robert) McLaughlin of Zion, IL; four grandchildren, Matthew and Jack Knutel and Chloe and Abbigail McLaughlin; brother, Fred (June) Knutel of Three Oaks, MI; sister-in-law, Peggy (Richard) Liskey of Wauconda, IL; and many special cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Anastasia.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Salata - Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee, IL 60031. Interment is private.
