MILITARY: 2nd Lt of Walker's Mass Regiment, May - Dec 1775 (from Stanley Family History by Heraldry; 1782 Lt & 1788 Captain in the militia. RESIDENCE: moved to East Winthrop in 1777 & lived 10 yrs on the County Road, near the corner of the old road (now abandoned) that ran southerly by widow Sibyl Foster's; removed to a fam in westerly part of town which he sold to Nathaniel Kimball in 1803 & moved to the Village;bought the fulling mill & built 2 story house still known as the "Stanley House". !POLITICAL: moderator of town meeting 19 times; 4 times selectman, twice representative to the General Court; on important committees
