Samuel Stanley lived on the old homestead of his father in Waterbury,
the title to the place being still in the latter's name after his
return to Farmington. Samuel Stanley was a carpenter and millwright,
and at different times resided in Wallingford, Farmington, and Durham.
He was a townsman in 1704 and 1705; was a member of the school
committee; served as a collector of taxes; and in other local offices.
