Elsie Marie (Dahl) Peterson, 84, of Waukegan, Illinois died
September 24, 2002 at Rolling Hills Nursing Home. She was born
June 3, 1918 in Highland Park, Illinois.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she served in
many ways including as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher, choir
member and on the 75th and 100th church anniversary committees.
She retired from the Lake County Regional Superintendent of
Schools Office in 1982.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roswell (Russ); her
son, John; her mother and father, Nels and Alma Dahl; and her
sisters, Marion Dahl and Helen (John) Harju. Surviving are her
brother, Nels Elmer (Gladys) Dahl of Vero Beach, FL; her
daughters, Judith (Lester) Stanley of Waukegan; and Janice
(Charles) Howes of Waukegan; 5 grandchildren, Scott (Lori)
Stanley, Jill (Robert) Whitehead, JoAnn Stanley, Heather Howes
and Chris Howes; and 4 great-grandchildren, Travis and Ryan
Whitehead and Rebecca and Kenneth Stanley.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 28,
2002 at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 Cemetery Rd., Pastor
Alan Owens officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home
from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
Interment at Northshore Garden of Memories. Memorials are
suggested for Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund.
