D - Jacob      Possibly a son of Thomas -1. He was dismissed from 
	       the Quaker Church July 7, 1722 for having 
	       married out of unity with the church.


Thomas was a member of the Church of England as late as 1691 when 
his son John was baptised but later joined the Society of Friends 
(Quakers). He is listed in Hinshaws Quaker Records, Bol. 6, page 
213, first appeared on records, dated Feb. 28, 1700, at Henrico 
Monthly Meeting, Hanover Col, Va. and later on Aug 1, 1726, 
Thomas Sr. is listed as being dismissed for his marrieage out of 
unity, also page 213. He also lived in Lousia Col, Ba. No death 
date was found for him. His dismissal from the church would 
indicate he had married a second time but no further record of 
this was found.

1, Page 515. This family may have moved to Fairfax M.M., Va. from 
Hanover Co., Va. Later Catherine and daughters, Martha and Agnes 
were given certificate to New Garden M.M., NC, dated: Sept. 8, 
1764. Mary Holme listed as mother-in-law of James Stanley, dated: 
Aug. 2, 1736 in Hinshaws, Vol.. 6, Page 213. Catherine, daughter 
of Nicholas Hutchins. Other listings, Vol. 6, Page 213:

Feb. 4 1724 - James Stanley, Cedar Creek Meeting, Hanover 
reported imprisoned for refusing to pay tithes or priest's wages. 
The next month he is reported freed, his fine paid by one not a 
Quaker.

1733 - James Stanley, Cedar Creek meeting, suffered the seizure 
of 8 sheep for refusing to pay tithes or bear arms.

1735 - James had a rug seized for same reason
