"Sacred to the memory of Moses Smith, a soldier of the Revolution, who departed this life on the 6th of June 1837. Aged 81 yrs. 4mos. and 15 days."⁷^,⁹^,⁸ He died on 6 Jun 1837 at Abbeville County, SC, at age 81.¹⁰^,⁷^,² He died on 5 Jan 1837 at Abbeville County, SC, at age 80 (this is wrong date).⁶

He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War.

Cora Elizabeth Smith Wilk's daughter Edith Wilk married Wendell Willkie 14Jan1918.⁸ He lived in the northern tip of Greenwood County, between Ware Shoals and Shoals Junction.⁸ He left a will on 10 Feb 1837 at Abbeville County, SC.¹

She died on 12 May 1960 at Iva, Anderson County, SC, at age 81.

She was educated on 21 Jun 1899 at Due West Female Academy, Due West, SC, and finished Due West Female Academy (now Erskine College) in 1899 with a major in English. We have her original diploma.
