Leona "Lony" Josephine Stallman was born Oct. 13, 1909, to Clem and Anna Schelle Stallman at Auburn, Sac County, Iowa; was baptized at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Breda and moved with the family in 1910 to their homestead southeast of Reliance. The family followed Clem around on his Rawleigh Products sales area in Plankinton and White Lake 1913-1918, then returned to the farm where she attended North Cooper School through the eighth grade. Following her schooling she worked in other peoples' homes as housekeeper and babysitter until she headed for Iowa in 1928 to work for the Leo Stallman family and others. Joe Voss also moved to Ashton that year.

Joe was born Sept. 28, 1898 at Adrian, Nobles County, Minn. to Henry and Catherine SHAFER Voss. He attended school in Wilmont, Lismore and Beardsley, Minn then started farming in 1918. In his early years, he loved to play the accordian at house parties in the area.

Leona married Joseph John Voss Sept. 26, 1934, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ashton, Osceola County, Iowa. For the next 31 years, Joe and Leona farmed in the Ashton area before retiring to their home at Fulda, Murray County, Minn., in 1965.

They enjoyed their retirement and Lony continued to quilt future heirlooms for her family. They were avid pinochle players and Joe (like me, his niece, barbara) liked to keep his lungs clear the best way he knew how ... cussing like the proverbial sailor. He had developed a style for cussing and he would not have been Joe if he stopped cussing. God understood. In her golden years, Lony gradually turned in to a carbon copy of Grandma Stallman, much to everone's delight.

In September of 1984 their six children hosted a 50th wedding anniversary celebration for them. Joe passed away and Leona passed away Sept. 30, 1994. Both are buried at

Children:
Daniel Lee Voss was born Oct. 10, 1953, to Joe and leona Stallman Voss at Worthington, Nobles County, Minn. and graduated with the class of 1971 from Fulda High School.
Dec. 26, 1983, Dan married Lori Louise Lutz at Worthington, Minn. Lori was born May 2, 1957 at Fulda. She brought to the family as son, Jeremy Ivan Hokenese, who was born Oct. 23, 1977, at Worthingon.

Steven F. and Diane Nelson Voss

Steven Frederick was born to Joe and Leona Stallman Voss April 23, 1957, at Worthington, Minn. He graduated from Fulda High School with the class of 1975.Following high school he attended Pipestone Vocational School studying auto mechanics and went to work in Worthington. June 4, 1994, he was united in marriage to Diana "Elsie" Nelson at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Fulda.
