There are also Stacys that appear in the Stony Creek Primitive Baptist Church Books. I will list a few excerpts.
February 26, 1809 ~ The church met together and found in love, then came forward Brother Sexton and his wife and made their excuse. The church forgives them. Then came forward Brothers Kitchens and wife and laid their grievances concerning a sister that grieved them and cannot get satisfaction. The church appoints Brother Stacy, Brother Cox, Brother Wells, Brother Brinkley to her for peace and to cite her to the next meeting.
April 27, 1809 ~ The church met together and found in love. Then came forward Brother Stacy and made his excuse. Brother Kitching also. The church forgives them. Dismissed in order.
January 25, 1812 ~ Church meeting held on Stony Creek. The church met and found in love. The laid over till next meeting. Then came forward Brother James McKinney and his wife joined by letter. The church recorded them. Then came forward Brother Stacy and said that Mann had told him lies. He said he did not go in at Alley's to warm and then denied it. Mann denies saying so at all. Mann said he was not cold and again said his stock was froze at the time and he got off and warmed himself. A question to the church: "Wither Brother Stacy has sinned or not, and wither Brother Mann has sinned or not." "He has sinned" Then came forward Brother Taylor and said report had gone out that he was drunk. He denies it. Then came forward Brother Hall and acknowledged the same and also denies it, but said he was very angry. The church concludes not to deal with him until the next meeting and by his requies. They called Brother Steward and Brother Zacheriah. They refuse. Dismiss the order.
February 22, 1812 ~ Church Meeting held on Stony Creek. The church sat and found in love. The refrence came on between Brother Stacy and Mann. Then came forward Mann and said he does not remember the mistake made between them. The church excluded Mann for sin. He is no more of us in this church. Then came forward Brother Kitchen and acknowledged that he neglected his church meeting. They forgives. Brother Owens also Brother Stergen also forgives him. Then came forward Brother Henry and his wife and requested a letter of Dismission from us. The church granted it to them. Dismissed in order.
**Brother Stacy is George Stacy. Later in 1813 Simon Stacy appears. This is very interesting reading. You can get a copy of it for yourself at Rootsweb. There is about 32 pages of these meeting minutes. You can also find all of the Land Grants for Tazwell County Stacys on Rootsweb.
