FIRST GENERATION

1. Parker HOWARD Sr was born on 5 May 1816 in Lenoir County, NC. He died on 6 Feb 1903 in Lenoir County, NC. He was buried in Parker Howard Cemetery, Jonestown Road, Lenoir County, NC. Nelly Howard and Issac Stroud Sr are his parents. They never married.

He was married to Nancy WATERS (daughter of Slade WATERS and Susan WATERS) about 1844. Nancy WATERS was born on 13 Jul 1828 in Lenoir County, NC. She died on 31 Oct 1898 in Lenoir County, NC. She was buried on 1 Nov 1898 in Parker Howard Cemetery, Jonestown Road, Lenoir County, NC. Parker HOWARD Sr and Nancy WATERS had the following children:

15 xiv. Pinckney HOWARD was born about 1868. He died between 1870 and 1880. Pinkney appears in the 1870 Lenoir County Census as 3m. In the 1880 census Lenoir County he dosen't appear. Since I can find no records of his death, I talked to Parker Jr's daughter Patty and she says that he died young, also his brother Isiah. It is said that Parker Sr had at least 22 children. I have accounted for 19. With three of these 19 dying at young ages then we may assume that the other three children also succumed at a young age. Miss Pattie says there was a cemetery behind Mr Parker's house and a lot of his people were buried there. The cemetery has been plowed under over the years. She is the oldest living relative of Parker Sr that I know of being his granddaughter, and being raised right here on the family farm or surrounding property. Therefore, I have no reason not to believe what
she says about the family history. When I spoke to her she was in good health and was able to remember things that happen when she was a child.
