German Folk Songs

If you visit the site you'll notice that many of the words are available, but they are written in German. I tried the free translation web site that I placed in the Favorites page of this web site.  Again, do not trust the translation for quality. I chose the following songs strictly from the melody. If the words to any of these songs are offensive, I hereby plead total ignorance.

Alleluja ~ This one, I know from church ~ It's "Allelujah"
A A A das Kindlein lieget da ~ This one is my favorite melody ~ bad to the bone!
A a a der Winter der ist da ~ They're gettin' down now folks! ~ Listen close though, I detect some "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" in there.
Allein wieder allein ~ I hope this one has nice words, it's a beautiful masterpiece.
Alle Vögel sind schon da  ~ I may be wrong, but I think this one is "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" too.
Alleweil ein wenig lustig
Alles schweige Jeder neige
These are all beautiful melodies to me. I love music, it's a big part of my life, as you probably noticed by my own music web site on the Favorites page. Many beautiful songs and famous composers have been of German ancestry.
