How To Be Saved
Home

Evangelist Wm. Beirnes

Notice first several outstanding facts:

1. Life at its best is very brief.
2. There is a HEAVEN we should seek to gain and a HELL we should shun.
3. You will soon be in Eternity.
4. You will either spend your eternity in Heaven in a state of indescribable glory, or in Hell where they weep and wail, gnash their teeth, and gnaw their tongues for pain.
Let God awaken you to the fact that as a sinner you are not just going to be lost; but you ARE LOST NOW.
If you are awakened to this fact be encouraged for Jesus says:
Matt. 18:11. The Son of Man is come to SAVE that which was lost.

HIS NAME BESPEAKS THIS FACT

Matt. 1:21. And she shall bring forth a son and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall SAVE his people FROM THEIR SINS.

TO GET SAVED YOU MUST REPENT

Matt. 3:2. REPENT YE: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Luke 13:3. Except ye REPENT, ye shall all likewise perish.
Acts 17;30. And the times of this ignorance God winked at: but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.

TRUE REPENTANCE IS MANIFEST BY ITS FRUITS

Matt. 3:8. Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance.

1st FRUIT: A GODLY SORROW FOR SIN

2 Cor. 7 :10. For Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation.
Ps 38:18. For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin

2nd FRUIT: A BROKEN AND CONTRITE SPIRIT

Ps. 34:18. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken h; art; arid saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Ps. 51: l7. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart O God, thou wilt not despise.
Isa. 57:15. For- thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a CONTRITE and HUMBLE spirit.

3rd FRUIT: CONFESSION

In this spirit of contrition confess your Sons.
l Jon. 1:9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Matt. 3:6. And they were baptized of him in Jordan confessing their sins

4th FRUIT: FORSAKING ALL SIN

Repentance and confession in themselves are not enough but all sin must be FORSAKEN.
Isa. 55:7. Let the wicked FORSAKE his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto the lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God for he will abundantly pardon.
Prov. 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper; but whoso CONFESSETH and FORSAKETH them SHALL have mercy.
Lk 14:33. Whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath he cannot be my disciple.
Mk. 8:34. Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.

5th FRUIT: A FORGIVING SPIRIT

We must forgive others who do us wrong or God cannot forgive us.
Matt. 6:12, 14-15. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. For IF YE FORGIVE men their trespasses, your heavenly Father WILL also FORGIVE YOU: But IF YE FORGIVE NOT men their trespasses, NEITHER will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Mk. 11:25. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any; that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive your trespasses.
Matt. 18:21-35. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, IF YE FROM YOUR HEARTS forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

6th FRUIT: RESTITUTION

All stolen or ill gotten goods, or their values in money are to be restored if at all possible.
Lk. 19:8. If I have taken anything from any man by false accusation I restore him fourfold.

7th FRUIT: FAITH

Now while you are pouring out your Heart to God in prayer, take the final step and you will find that your burden of sin and guilt will roll away and your heart will be filled with peace and joy.
Mk. 11:24. What things soever ye desire, WHEN YE PRAY, BELIEVE that ye receive them and ye SHALL have them.
Acts 16:31. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.
Heb. 11:6. He that cometh to God must BELIEVE that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that DILIGENTLY seek him.
I John 5:4. This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

It will not be hard to exercise faith if we meet all the other conditions.
We are living in a troubled world troubled because of sin. Conditions will continue to get worse as we near the end of the age, and the coming of Jesus; and blessed will those be who truly turn to Christ, even if they sacrifice their lives to do so. "If we suffer with him we shall also reign with him." The tribulation judgments will soon be poured out on this wicked earth. It is salvation or damnation for all the world in a very short time, for we may enter the tribulation any day now; therefore follow this scriptural instruction and get saved without delay, while the door of God's mercy is open.
