| Grace Stover was born in
Basil, Ohio and was the oldest daughter of Theophilus Stover and
Hannah Caroline Goss. In 1890 she took part in the first
annual commencement exercises of the Basil Public Schools. In 1894 she married George
Trout of Pleasant Township and the following spring their first
son was born, Ralph Stover Trout. Son Harold D. Finley Trout
followed in 1897. By 1900 George Trout
had abandoned his family, and Grace and her boys moved in with her
mother, sister and brothers, who by now had relocated to
Lancaster. Grace remained with her mother and worked as a
tailoress until her sudden death at age 54. |
