This church was built in 1961.  The original church was destroyed by a fire.  The land for the Moonshine Cemetery was donated by my 5th Great-Grandfather, Henry Moonshine.  Henry was born in 1760 and died in 1836.

Located directly behind the courthouse in Pottsville, nine of the Molly Maguires were hung in the prison courtyard between 1877 - 1879.

Overlooking the village of Llewellyn where many members of the Dando family were born and raised.  Llewellyn is located in Branch Township.

Built in 1839, this church was first known as the Methodist Episcopal Church.  Later it became the property of the Reformed Congregation.  It borders on the Llewellyn Cemetery where many members of the Dando family are buried.  Located on Shober St., off Rt. 209, Llewellyn.

Washington Township is home to Schuylkill County's two remaining covered bridges.  Referred to locally as the Zimmerman and Rock bridges, both are located off Rt. 895 near the village of Rock.


Salem Hetzel's Church

In 1780 the congregation of this church had it's beginning in a small log schoolhouse where Peter Hetzel taught school and held worship services.  Many of my Miller ancestors were members of the church and several are buried in the church cemetery.

Located along Rt. 25 in Sacramento, many of my Carl and Kline ancestors attended this church and are buried in the church cemetery across the street.  Even the old section of this cemetery is very well maintained.

The condition of this cemetery is deplorable.  Many tombstones have fallen over and the upper section is completely overgrown with vines.  My immigrant ancestor, Solomon Hancock, is buried here.  Located on old Rt. 901 in Branch Twp.
