DAWE, George Will of George Daw Senior from Newfoundland will books volume 1 pages 87 & 88 probate year 1830. In the Estate of George Daw Senior deceased. In the name of God Amen. To all to whom these presents shall come Know Ye that I George Daw the Elder being at this time in perfect mind and sound memory do hereby make this my last will and testament. First I commend my soul into the hand of Almighty God in sure and certain hope of the resurrection of the Dead. Item. To my son George I give and bequeath the house he now resides in one half of the garden situated between John Daw and Charles Daws property to be divided by drawing a line from No. to So a quarter of the garden attached to his house and a quarter of the stage and flakes Item As long as my sons John and Jacob may agree they are to reside together in the house I now dwell in and have the cellar attached thereto, but not until John may have a house built for himself is he to be obliged to remove from this, eventually however the houses and cellar is to be the property of Jacob with all the household furniture. The meadow. Grass. House. Garden that lays to the North of the meadow and store house in front of the room is to equally divided between them (John and Jacob) Item To my son Isaac I give and bequeath one half of the garden situated between John Daw and Charles Daw's property aforesaid and a quarter of the fishing room laying southward. Item All other parts of the fishing room or plantation not herein specified is to be divided equally between the four sons. Item- Whatever money may remain in the hands of Mr. Willm Danson belonging to me at my demise I give and bequeath to my sons John and Jacob to be equally divided they paying the sum of two pounds to each of my daughters Nancy Patience Frances and Grace if so much remain after deducting the cost attending my funeral (which I request may be in a decent and respectable manner) Item In confidence of the honor and integrity of Messrs. Robert Prowse and William Andrews (Rob. Son) I will that they be executors to this my last will & testament and I strictly injoin all concerned herein that they attend to their direction in the execution hereof the executors are to have hatbands and scarfs to be worn at my funeral. do send greeting. Know ye that I the said Isaac Daw, fisherman, for and
in consideration of the goodwill and affection which I have and do bear
towards my loving son George Daw of same place and Island, fisherman,
have given and granted, and by these presents, do freely give and grant
unto the said George his heirs, executors and administrators all and singular
my part of the place on which I live (the remainder having been already
shared in lots among my sons John, Samuel, and Isaac J which I had reserved
after the division aforesaid- admer???ing on the Waterside forty five
45, yards and on the Road side thirty-three 33. with all creations therefrom
and and all priveleges to the same appertaining - or in any wise belonging-
to have and to hold the same to himthe said George, his heirs Executors
and Administrators from henceforth art his and their property absolutely-
the said George continuing as heretofro to provide for and take care of

I George Kelly of County Kilkenny, Ireland, but now living in Lance Cove South Shore Conception Bay in the Island of Newfoundland fisherman and farmer being feeble in body but of perfect mind and memory do hereby make my last will and Testament. In the first place I give and bequeath to George Kelly, my grandson that piece and parcel of land that is situated in Lance Cove and bounded as follows, East by my grandson William Kelly land, South by main road leading to Holyrood, West by John Kelly land, and north by the Pond. I also give to my grandson George Kelly the two outside gardens by the pond and flake. My waterside fishing premises is to be equally divided between Caleb Morgan and my grandson George Kelly. The Board etc. that was in my dwelling house, stables and cellar I have given to Caleb Morgan and George Kelly my said grandson to use about their own buildings. My goods and chattels I give and bequeath to Mrs. Dinah Morgan. My grandson George Kelly is to have my clock. To Caleb Morgan I give and bequeath that piece or parcel of land situate in Lance Cove above named and bounded as follows: East by John Kearney, south by main road leading to Holyrood, West by Joseph Walsh's land, North by waste land belonging to William Walsh. I also give to Caleb Morgan the two outside south gardens one by the cellar and the other by the spot where my dwelling house was. I give and bequeath to John Kelly my son two pieces of land to hold possession of until his death and after his death the said pieces of land are to go to those persons that now support me. Ing:(?) George Kelly my grandson and Caleb Morgan. I have claimed the said two pieces of land for seventy years, and No. one is bounded on the West by the late Richard Walsh's land. East by local road called George Kelly's road, North by the late Richard Walsh's land and south by local road {George Kelly's} No. two is bounded on the west by Joshua Kearney's land, east by William Kelly's land {my grandson} North by Lance Cove land and south by the main road. The children of my son the late Solomon Kelly are to hold possession of and enjoy the land I gave their father. Org: the land that his dwelling house was on, the kitchen garden, and the piece of waste land I gave my son Solomon. And I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and discount all and every other former Testaments, wills legacies and bequests by me in anywise before named willed and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament. Jacob Warford to Rev'd. Joseph Gaetry Be it remembered that on the fourteenth day of December A.D. 1870 at half past eleven o'clock a certain paper writing was duly registered as follows: This indenture made the 25th day of October in the year of our Lord and
to said eight hundred and sixty five between Jacob Warford of Lance Cove
Hopewell of the one part and Rev Joseph Gaetry Weslayen Minister of Topsail
of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Jacob Warford for and in consideration
of the sum of one shilling sterling to him the said Jacob Warford should
well and truly paid the receipt whichof is hereby acknowledged th the
said Jacob Warford hath granted bargained and sold to Rev Joseph Gaetry
Weslayan Minister of Topsail a piece of land for Church purposed situate
at Lance Cove (Hopewell) measuring in length three hundred and four feet
and in the breadth sixty one feet rounded as follows on the north by main
road on the West by Richard Porter and on the South and East by Jacob
Warford, the vestry of the Church being two feet further out than land
first given. I now freely give the land on which the Vestry is erected
in Witness whereof I hereunto set my hand Jacob Warford his mark Witness
Joseph Gaetry William Covedock his mark William Scott his mark Samuel
Dawe his mark ____ In the Province of Nova Scotia___Towit Joseph Gaetry
of Lunenburg in the saed Province of Nova Scotia Wesleyan Minister the
grantee named in the Bill of Sale on the other side hereof written purporting
to be a Bill of Sale or conveyance of certain land by Jacob Warford to
the said Joseph Gaetry maketh oath and saith that he was present on teh
day of the date of the said Bill of Sale and did see the said Jacob Warford
sign the said Bill of Sale by putting his mark thereto and that before
the said Jacob Warford so signed the said Bill of Sale the same was read
over and explained to and the purport and ruling(?) thereof understood
by the said Jacob Warford Joseph Gaetry Sworn before us at Lunenburg in
the Province of Nova Scotia this twenty fifth day of October A.D. 1870

31st day of March Anno domini One thousand nine hundred and fifty five
between George Frederick Warford of Upper Gullies, District of Harbour
Main, farmer (herein called the ?vendor?) of the one part and Casey Estate
Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of this province (herein
called the ?purchaser?) of the second part witnesseth that for and in
consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars ($500.00) this day in
hand well and truly paid by the purchaser to the vendor (the receipt whereof
the vendor hereby acknowledges) the vendor as beneficial owner hereby
assigns and conveys unto the purchaser all that piece or parcel of land
situate at Lance Cove, Upper Gullies aforesaid, being the northerly portion
of that certain piece or parcel of land at Upper Gullies This indenture
made at St. John?s in the province of Newfoundland this 31st day of March
Anno domini One thousand nine hundred and fifty five between George Frederick
Warford of Upper Gullies, District of Harbour Main, farmer (herein called
the ?vendor?) of the one part and Casey Estate Limited, a company incorporated
under the laws of this province (herein called the ?purchaser?) of the
second part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of five
hundred dollars ($500.00) this day in hand well and truly paid by the
purchaser to the vendor (the receipt whereof the vendor hereby acknowledges)
the vendor as beneficial owner hereby assigns and conveys unto the purchaser
