Transcription of the Recording of the Will of Jonas Spiva In the name of Good Amen I Jonas Spivey of Maddison county State of Missouri In the presence of William B Campbell Joseph Bennett |
State of Missouri, county court of Madison county November Term 1828. This day came in open court Bathena Spiva and here in court a paper purporting to be the last Will and testament [of] her deceased husband, Jonas Spiva, and prayed that the same might be proven and admitted to Record. And thereupon Joseph Bennett, William B. Campbell, and John Perringer, who [are] the subscribing witnesses to said instrument, and who being sev sworn, upon their oaths declare, that they saw the said testator, the said last will and testament, and that they were called up as witness by said testator, that they heard him acknowledge and pronounce the same as his act and deed and that they subscribed their names as witnessess in the presence of said testator, and in the presence of each other and further state that they considered said testator, of at that time of sound and disposing mind ordered therefor by the court that said Will is herein fully proven and admitted to record. I Thomas Moseley Jr Clerk of the County Court of said county do certify the foregoing to be a true copy of the proof of this Will of Jonas Spiva desd in said county court at the November Term thereof year 1828. As the same now remains of record in my said office. Given under my hand & private seal there being no seal of said court yet Done at office in Frederick Town this 12th November 1828. Tom.
