DECEMBER 1918
From the Te Puke Times of 22 November 1918.
The annual meeting of the Paengaroa-Te Puke Hack Club was held at Paengaroa on 7th Inst. Owing to various circumstances no members were able to attend from Te Puke but there were sufficient local members to enable the meeting to be held. (This was during the Influenza Epidemic so this may account for the non-attendance of the Te Puke members.)

The following programme of events was adopted: - Hurdle Race 1 1/2 miles £10; Maiden Race 5 Furlongs £6; Cup 1 1/4 miles £20, Settlers' Race 7 Furlongs £6; Flying Handicap 6 Furlongs £15; Welter 1 mile £7; Forced Handicap 5 Furlongs £6.
It was decided to apply for January 1st for Race Day.
