ROYAL NEW ZEALAND FENCIBLES - 1847 - 1852 - The Royal New Zealand Fencibles were a corp of retired soldiers of good character, under 48 years of age (it was later lowered to 41), at least 5ft 5 inches in height and with a minimum of 15 years service, from Britain and Ireland. They arrived in Auckland, New Zealand between 1847-1852 and formed the defence force which protected the early settlers of Auckland. Over 2500 men and their families arrived on the ten vessels.
ALBERTLAND IMMIGRANTS. - Several Migrant Ships transported “Albertlanders” from England to Port Albert, Kaipara Harbour between 1862 and 1865.
WAIKATO IMMIGRATION SCHEME - 1864 - 1865 - Passenger lists for the thirteen ships of the Waikato Immigration Scheme to Auckland. Areas settled include Bombay, Pokeno, Clevedon, Papakura, Pukekohe and Waiuku etc.

ELLIS ISLAND - 1892-1924. - From 1892 to 1954, over twelve million ship passengers entered the United States through Ellis Island, a small island in New York Harbour. This included many New Zealander's on their way 'home' either to or from New Zealand. Well worth searching.
