NEW ZEALAND
ROLLS OF HONOUR
MAUNGATANIWHA MARAE WAR MEMORIAL

With much thanks to Adrienne & Garry Newton.

Maungataniwha Marae is on the northern side of Mangamuka Bridge on the right hand side of State Highway 1. The memorial is similar to a “Totem Pole” to look at. It has inscriptions in Maori on the left and right sides and in Maori and English on the front panel. The Marae is beautifully kept and obviously well used.

My apologies if there are errors in the Maori wording. Some was not very clear and it was beginning to rain so it was completed in rather a hurry on 16 January 2006 - Adrienne & Garry Newton.
