Died: 1933 in Cainsville, Missouri

John “Chick” O’Neal, the second son of William O’Neal and Lucretia Casey, was born in October of 1849 in Henry County, Indiana.

On December 25^th, 1873, John married Unity Jacobs, daughter of Leonard Jacobs of Ohio and Minerva Stropes.

John and Unity had 10 children in Cainsville:

· Oma Rose (b: 1875) Oma married Charlie Cain in 1893

· Otie (b: 1876) Otie married George Milrose in 1896

· Daisy Mae (b: 1877) Daisy Mae married Frank Cambpell in 1900

· Leonard (b: 1882)

· Donald (b: 1883) Don married Jessie Spurling in 1906

· Hubert “Jack” (b: 1884) Jack married Minnie Woodward in 1908

· Alvia Lewis (b: 1885)

· Edgebert (b: 1886) E F O’Neal married Chessie Darrow in 1911

· Maude (b: 1894) Maude married Aaron Michael in 1912 and

ater married Wilbur Lightfoot

· Everett (b: 1894) Everett died when a baby

John owned a 40 acre farm just northwest of Cainsville. The photo to the right shows this property in 1876.

John and Unity are buried in the Zoar Cemetary near Cainsville, MO. The photo to the right shows their headstone.

John’s son, Jack (1884-1981), who began spelling his name O’Neil instead of O’Neal at some point in his life, is also buried in the Zoar Cemetary.

Jack O’Neil’s son, Virgil “Buster” O’Neil (1911-1994) is buried in Zoar Cemetary as well.
