Coverage for Somerset 1891 |
We are actively seeking transcribers and checkers for 1891.
Volunteers for the 1891 project (only) will need to have access to a fiche reader - this project is being transcribed from fiches on loan from the LDS. Help is given to volunteers at all times.
We have so far issued almost half of this year for transcription and have transcribed over 40% of the year. Almost 20% has been checked and 17% has been validated and published on line to be searched free.
We need checkers and transcribers with access to fiche readers or their own source od images urgently for this year. If you are able to assist, or would like more information, please contact the County Coordinator.

Transcriptions are done on a spreadsheet to the FreeCEN format. Any mainstream spreadsheet program can be used. Help is given to volunteers at all times.
Checkers will be provided with a special checking program to assist in the checking process.
