Coverage for Somerset 1861 |
The 1861 part of this project is going well.
We have reviewed progress on several pieces with the transcriber and they have now been made available for the transcriptions to be completed.
So far pieces that have been transcribed account for 82% of the year for the county
We have checked over 58% of the year for the county
We have validated and loaded over 48% of the year for the county for you to search free.
We are seeking transcribers to complete the transcription of this year.
Transcriptions are done on a spreadsheet to the FreeCEN format. Any mainstream spreadsheet program can be used. Help is given to volunteers at all times.
Checkers are also required and will be provided with a special checking program to assist in the checking process.
This year is a CD based project - you do not need a fiche reader to participate. If you are able to assist, or would like more information, please contact the County Coordinator.
