... about this site ...

The intention of this site is to bring our ancestors to life through biographical narratives, photographs, newspaper articles, vital records, and historical events having relevance to their day in history.

Let there be no doubt that much of the information on this site comes from others, who came before me, and their hard work. Where possible, credit or source citations will be given, though I must admit that I have not always been diligent in noting my sources during my on again off again history of research. If there is something you see here that you would like credit for please contact me, likewise if you wish me to remove something from the site.

... about the author ...

Hello! My name is Terri Ellen. I was named after my aunt, Terri Jean, and my grandmother, Mary Ellen. Maybe that fact alone secured an interest in family history, and where I came from. I have always been interested in history. Like most other children I wanted to be a veterinarian when I “grew up”, but I also wanted to be an archeologist. I studied Anthropology in college, and loved those classes, but required Chemistry and Calculus classes eventually made me realize that I had to give into the idea that I was better suited to be a History Channel buff... and maybe, just maybe, a home grown genealogist.

At the end of the day this site is a labor of love. Alongside concrete data you may find an interpretation or two of my own making. I am not a historian, nor an expert genealogist. I am however very excited to share my passion with you. Thank you for visiting!
