DEATHS: Charles O. Cress
Charles Orin (Bud) Cress, 72, of Kent, Wash. passed away at his home May 19, 1996. He was born on Aug. 30, 1923 in Netawaka, the son of Robert Moses and Elsie Ruth Reeves Cress.
Charles was married to Elva Irene Soden on March 26, 1944. She survives of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bob Cress.
Surviving are his four children, Cheryl Wright, Hiawatha, Kansas, Lyle Cress, Roswell, Wash., Gail Mayes, Kent, Wash., and Paul Cress, Auburn, Wash.; a sister Ruth Ellen Cook, Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two foster children.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 23 at the Uahn & Sons Funeral Home, Auburn, Wash., with the Rev. William Potthoff officiating. Interment was at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn, Wash.

Bernard E. Linck
Bernard E. Linck, 74, Everest, died Sunday Aug. 1, 1999, at his home.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 A.M. Thursday at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Horton. Burial will be in Kimberlin Cemetery, northeast of Everest. A prayer service will be at 7 P.M. Wednesday at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary, Horton, after which the family will receive friends until 8:30 P.M. Memorials are suggested to the American Legion, Everest, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, 909 Central Ave, Horton, KS. 66439.
Mr. Linck was a farmer and stockman.
He was born March 18, 1925, in Potter, the son of Charles and Grace Linck.
Mr. Linck served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Horton and American Legion Post No. 288, Everest.
He married Barbara A. Soden on Oct. 25, 1950, in Purcell. She survives of the home. He was proceeded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lawrence and Dennis Linck; and a grandchild.
Survivors include four sons, Kevin Linck and Dennis Linck, Everest, Barry Linck, Havensville, KS., and Randy Linck, Willis; a daughter, Angela Carlton, Omaha Neb.; five brothers, Charles Linck Jr., Commerce, Texas, Leo Linck, Los Gatos, Calif., LeRoy Linck, Horton, Marvin Linck, Atchison and Glen Linck, Huron; two sisters, Grace Leitch, Everest, and Charlotte Reed, Carbondale; and 16 grandchildren.
They had the following children:
