NOTE: According to an interview of James Harvey Manis which was published in A History of Sweetwater Valley by William B. Lenoir, Ephraim Manis came to Monroe CO, TN about 1819 from Hawkins CO, TN. He is enumerated on the 1830 Monroe CO, TN census, but he moved about 1834 to McMinn CO, TN where he lived the remainder of his life.
