~ IN MEMORY OF ~

James Joseph C. Cline

b 17 Jul 1846 Murray CO, GA d 10 Jan 1930 Englewood, TN buried Ebenezer Cemetery, Monroe CO, TN
military service - Pvt., Company E, 7th Regiment TN Mounted Infantry, USA, Civil War

This photo was given to my mother Beulah "Boots" (Cline) Nipper by her grandfather "Chief" Cline after the death of her beloved Granny Cline. She cherished this photo the remainder of her life. It shows her great-grandfather "Big Joe" Cline taking a break from cutting timber on his farm. This was only one of many stacks of logs he cut.

When I feel exhausted, overheated, and overworked from working on the lawn, I remember this photo of Grandpaw Cline and feel relieved that I don't have to work so hard. I quit my whining about aching joints and replace it with pride in ancestors who knew truly hard work and endured. See also Joseph C. Cline Family Group Record.

This link is dedicated to Grandpaw Cline
with great love and admiration
by his great-great-granddaughter and namesake Sandra Jo.
