~ IN MEMORY OF ~

William H. "Bill" Hampton and Argyle Lee

Pictured above is William H. "Uncle Bill" Hampton standing on the right. The taller man standing on the left in the photo is probably Argyle Lee. If anyone knows how he connects to the Hampton family, please let me know. He is pictured in another photo with Uncle Bill Hampton's son Ode. From the background, they may have been logging that hill. Uncle Bill worked in my great-grandfather James Wesley "Bob" Hampton's sawmill at Liberty Hill, McMinn County, TN.

Many, many thanks to Cousin Mary Lee Farmer for this and many other copies of old family photos! She has been a great help in finding and copying old pictures as well as getting identification for them. Mary Lee did not know the identity of Uncle Bill Hampton's friend in this photo, but my mother thought his name was Argyle Lee.

This site is dedicated to the memory of my mother Beulah Cline Nipper, a beautiful product of the Knobs.
