The Students of Clearwater Community's First School
McMinn County, Tennessee 1898 - 1899
photo #2 below

In the first photo above, names of known students are as follows: standing left to right on second row from the front, the third girl is blonde-haired Sarah "Sally" Jane Tucker and standing in the third row from the front the last two young ladies are her older sisters, dark-haired Margaret Elizabeth "Bessie" Tucker and blonde Rachel Louisa "Ide" Tucker, respectively. Each one is wearing a bowed scarf about her neck. Bessie Tucker is my great-grandmother. Thanks to Anna Marie Johnson three additional students have been named. In the second row, left to right, the ninth one is Daisy O'Daniel and tenth is Lizzie O'Daniel. Also, in the third row, left to right, the fifth one is Inez O'Daniel. Thanks to Cousin Ron Thompson, another has been identified. He said, "the little girl on the front row second from the left is my grandmother Mary Ann Wattenbarger." If anyone can identify the names of any other students or their teacher, please email me with that information so it can be shared with all.

Many thanks to Georgie Hyde Brown for contributing these wonderful photos! Many thanks also to James Ronald Thompson for his valuable technical assistance and contributions to family history!

Anna Marie Johnson, listed above, is researching her grandmother Daisy O'Daniel as well as other lines and would like to hear from others researching that line.

This site is dedicated to the memory of my parents, Tommy and Beulah (Cline) Nipper.
