Mary V. Thompson

PARAGOULD — Mary Virginia Thompson, 77, of Paragould died Friday, Jan. 16, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

She was retired from Emerson Electric after 26 years and was a Wal-Mart associate for 131⁄2 years. She was a member of the New Haven Baptist Church.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James Luther and Cora Lilly Gramling Shipman; daughter, Judy Carol Howell; sisters, Sybil Stroud, Deronda Sheeks, Lucille Shipman, Nadine Turner and Betty Lou Shipman; and brother, J.M. Shipman.

Survivors include her husband, Leon Thompson of the home; sons, Danny and Stevan Thompson of Paragould; daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Morris Hatcher and Debbie and Dennis Davis, all of Paragould; brothers, Jerry Shipman of Paragould, James Shipman of Evening Star and Lee Shipman of Arizona; sisters, Patricia Lenderman and Fannie B. Lenderman, both of Paragould; 27 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6-8 in Heath Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Pickney officiating.

The family has requested that memorials be sent to New Haven Baptist Church.
