The family of Sarah (Faunce)(Doty) Buck can be deduced by entries made by Thomas Faunce, Town Clerk, who spoke of her as "My sister Sarah the Wif of John Buck" [2]. On 23 Mar. 1680/1, Thomas Faunce referred to "my Honoured Father John Faunce deceased..." [5]. On 16 Oct. 1665, Edward Doty, with the consent of his wife Sarah, sold to John Smith of Dartmouth his two-sevenths part of the whole share of land at Ponagansett, in exchange for "an house and gardenplot or homsteed... in the Towne of Plymouth..." [8]
On 15 Nov. 1665 Edward Doty was one of 25 persons to whom land was granted on the west side of the Namassakett River. [9]

On 8 Feb. 1689/90 Edward Doty senior and his son John were drowned in Plymouth Harbor [2]. On 3 Mar. 1689/90 the "Inventory of the Estate of Edward Doten Sen'r" was taken by John Doten and James Warren [10]. On 18 Mar. 1689/90 Sarah Doty swore to the inventory and was appointed to administer Edward Doty's estate [10]. On 9 July 1695, Thomas Faunce and John Dotey both of Plymouth were appointed "Gaurdians of the Orphan Children of Edward Dotey late of Plimouth deceased, viz' of Samuel Benjamin and Mercy..." [11].
On 3 Dec. 1696, the surviving heirs of Edward Doty made final settlement of his estate.
