Born in Center Valley, he was a son of the late Amos and Anna Laura (Smell) Bauder. He was a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, Coopersburg. Surviving are three daughters, Dorothy L., wife of David W. Gehman of Coopersburg, Virginia D., wife of Thomas Wutka of North Grandy, Conn., and Loretta M., wife of Phillip Barett of Millersville, Lancaster County; two sons, Roland R. of Quakertown and Richard C. of Millersville; three brothers, Raymond E. of Bethlehem, Elmer D. of Center Valley and Horace of Hellertown; a sister, Mrs. Grace Lerch of Hellertown; 19 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. They observed their 46th wedding anniversary last December. Bergstresser's dates back to 1903 as a landmark in Wassergass, Hellertown R.1. Bergstresser's father, Alfred L., founded the family business as A.L. Bergstresser & Son. Around 1920 John began working with his father, and since the 1970s, John's son, William A., has been running the store Featured in a 1981 Neighbor's story, Bergstresser's was described as the kind of store that takes you back to the horse and buggy days with its variety of merchandise piled throughout the store Born in Lower Saucon Township, Bergstresser also was a son of the late Daisy (Bauder) Bergstresser. Surviving with his widow and son of Hellertown are a brother, Kenneth A. of Bethlehem, and three grandchildren. He was a biology professor emeritus of Moravian College, Bethlehem. He received a bachelor's degree in biology from Albright College, Reading, a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a doctorate from Lehigh University.
Born in Hellertown, he was a son of the late Alfred L. and Daisy (Bauder) Bergstresser.
He was a member of Cornwall United Methodist Church, and a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bethlehem, and St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Hellertown, where he was a Sunday school superintendent.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a senior chief field director of the American Red Cross with the 12th Armored Division. He was a recipient of a Bronze Star.
He was a member of Hellertown-Lower Saucon School Board, Bethlehem Masonic Lodge 283 and Cornwall Manor Tree Committee.
Survivors: Sons, Michael Divinia of San Jose, Calif., Karl Bergstresser of Centreville, Va.; daughter, Kay Somers of Bethlehem; four grandchildren.

Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Frack) Seip.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hellertown.
Survivors: Sons, Larry, at home, Charles of Easton, and Robert, Bernard and Richard, all of Bethlehem; daughters, Dolores, wife of John DelRe, and Nancy, both of Hellertown; sister, Mrs. Margaret Dries of Macungie R.1; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, William and Henry, and a daughter Janet.
